Chicken Sizzler with Mushroom Sauce – Everyone loves Grilled Chicken especially in sizzler. The sound of the sizzle on the hot iron plate excites everyone and looks very tempting when the dish is taken to the table and smoke comes out of the dish. WOW!!! Isn’t it?

I usually make beef pepper steak sizzler with mushroom sauce. But this time I am gonna tell you the recipe of chicken sizzler with yummy mushroom sauce and beans gravy. You can make any one of them, but both are the best combinations with grilled chicken steak or beef pepper steak.

I love mushroom sauce!! In fact, who doesn’t love it by the way!! Do you know you can make the mushroom sauce by yourself, at the comfort of your own home, with simple pantry ingredients? You probably need to grab the mushrooms and milk/cream to make this finger-licking yummy sauce. The best part is that the mushroom sauce can be ready in just 15 minutes.

Chicken Steak sizzler is a continental dish and was originated in the US but has been tried almost everywhere with a few changes. Everyone loves steaks in hot sizzlers because of its unique way of serving.

For the Grilled Chicken:

  • 500 gm Chicken Fillet or 1 whole chicken (large pieces with bones)
  • 1 TBSP Garlic Paste
  • 1 TSP Ginger Paste
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • Lemon Juice of 1 whole lemon
  • ½ TSP Black Pepper (pounded)
  • 1 TSP Red chilli flakes

For Stir-fried Veggies:

  • 1 cup Peas (boiled)
  • Cauliflower Florets Take half from the large whole piece
  • Broccoli Florets Take half from the large whole piece
  • 1 cup French Beans (cut in three pieces)
  • ½ or 1 small Carrot cut into slices,
  • 2 cloves Garlic, fine chopped
  • 2 TBSP Oil or butter

To make Mushroom Sauce:

  • 1 ½ cup Cooking Cream
  • ½ TSP Garlic, fine chopped
  • Salt, a pinch
  • ½ TSP Black Pepper, pounded
  • 1 TSP Red Chili flakes, (optional)
  • 1 TSP Parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup Mushrooms, cut into slices
  • 1 cup Onion , chopped
  • ½ TBSP Butter, salted or unsalted
  • ½ TBSP Olive oil

To make Beans Gravy:

  • 2 cups Rajma Beans, (boiled)
  • 1 whole Onion , chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • Turmeric powder a pinch

To make Baked Potatoes:

  • 5 Potatoes, hard boiled & quartered, (about 70% done)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper powder or freshly crushed, to taste


  • Sizzler Platter, to serve


STEP#1: Marinate the Chicken and Cook

  • Marinate chicken pieces with above marinade ingredients for three hours or longer if you have enough time.
    2. Either deep or pan fry the chicken pieces or fillets till golden brown, remove on a plate. If you are using fillets, you can grill them in a grill pan.
    Chicken is ready. Keep aside.

STEP#2: Stir Fry the Veggies

  • Take a pan and heat two tablespoons of oil or butter.
    2. Add chopped garlic and let the aroma arises then add all veggies and cook on high flame for 10 minutes.
    3. Sprinkle salt and pepper and adjust according to your taste.
    Stir-fried veggies are ready. Keep aside.

STEP#3: Make Mushroom Sauce

  • Heat oil and butter in a pot over medium heat until the butter has melted. Add in the garlic and stir constantly for 1 minute until fragrant.
    2. Braise mushrooms in butter till nicely browned and have reduced in size – about 5 minutes.
    3. In the same pan add cooking cream and let it boil while whisking.
    4. As it thickens remove from flame, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Mushroom sauce is ready.

NOTE: If you don’t want to use cream then you can skip the cream with the milk, in that case, you will need:

    100 ml milk + ½ tablespoon cornstarch

    • Follow Step#1 until mushrooms frying then add 100 ml milk and bring to a boil, then turn down the heat and simmer for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
      2. Dissolve the corn flour in the remaining milk and drizzle it into the sauce, simmering for another 2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

    STEP#4: Make Beans Gravy

    • Braise onions, in 1 TBSP oil. Add tomatoes, green chili, salt and turmeric powder.
      2. Make like a paste then add beans with little water and let it cook until a thick gravy.

    STEP#5: To make Baked Potatoes

    • Preheat the oven with a grill option. Grease a baking tray with spray (or apply oil with a brush if you don’t have cooking spray) and bake in the pre-heated oven till crisped up.
      2. Remove and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste

    STEP#6: Assembling

    • Keep the sizzler metal plate on the medium-high flame until it is extremely hotRemove from the flame, and place the heated plate on the wooden base.
      2. Place some cabbage leaves over the sizzling platter and arrange half-cup veggies on one side, half-boiled rice or pasta (whatever you prefer), two potato wedges, one big chicken piece.
      3. Put beans on the other side and pour mushroom sauce on veggies and chicken steak. As you drizzle the mushroom sauce, the sizzler plate will sizzle and bubble up, so serve as soon as you drizzle the sauce.
      Serve immediately! Serve Hot! Enjoy!!
